Window Awnings - system
The Carbolite Window Awning has been designed for simple installation yet incredibly strong system to withstand winds and rain. The system is based on a hinged receiving channel. As the awnings are supplied already manufactured, the installation process is attaching a rear receiving channel and arms to the awning.

The hinge beam and weather bar system is the first attachment. The rear weather bar(left hand extrusion) is attached to the wall or fascia .Silicone is applied to the rear first and then 50mm Tek Screws (into plugs if necessary) screwed at 600 centres. The hinge beam(extrusion on the right) is already attached to the awning. The unique shape means the awning needs to be attached at a certain angle as the hinge beam cannot go front on to the awning.

The advantage of this system is the awning can be attached and hung without the need to be supported by the installer. This also allows you to adjust the ngle of the awning to align your brackets into place. The rear channel is 60mm high and will fit most fascias and fixing studs.

The awning comes pre fabricated meaning the body of the awning is already made. The only seperate attachments then are the arms and the rear weather bar.

The front beam and the arms section used is a rectangular hollow section measuring 38mm x 25mm x 2.5mm. This section is sleek yet very strong meaning no bulky or ugly beams. The beam can span up to 2m before the need for another arm support (conditions apply due to size and location) . All sections are aluminium and powdercoated ensuring a superior life span than other materials.

The attachment brackets are special die cut from our company. They fit neatly into the arm section and have a swivel point allowing the arm to be fixed in different angles without the need for mitre cutting the arms. The material used is black engineered polypropelene which is the strongest non metallic material available that can withstand weather and UV degredation.

The bracket here is the one that connects to the wall and is a vertical bracket. The bracket to connect the arm to the awning is a horizontal bracket but same principle.

All our awnings can have optional extra water diverter attached to the front. Whilst not a gutter, they perform the same way in that they divert water from the front to the sides. They are attached to the front with a flat bar and pop rivets. You simply drill a hole through the end cap on one side to allow water to spill out the side. This prevents any drips on the front. Please note they have little impact on heavy rain but perform well on light showers.

CARBOLITE can have side panels attached. Whilst they perform little cover for side ways driven rain, they are an attractive finish to the awning. Most side panels are 350mm deep which sets the angle of the awning. This angle will vary depending on the projection of the awning.
